WEEKLY THOUGHTS:

Men live their lives within a framework of customary relations and patterns for achieving their ends and solving their problems. In the absence of positive force, they have worked out and accepted these patterns voluntarily, or they submit to them willingly. Any alteration of these by government involves the use or threat of force, for that is how governments operate. The old order must be replaced by a new order for the reform to be achieved. The result of the forceful effort to do this is disorder.

FREEDOM-FREEDOM-ABSOLUTE FREEDOM

Because the U.S. Constitution is the law of the land and because the people in the Federal Government are charged with the responsibility and have taken an oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution this piece is directed toward the Federal Government, the people in the Federal Government and the people who support the people in the Federal Government. The intent, the spirit, and the words of the Constitution are very clearly meant to restrict the people in the Federal Government from abusing the limited powers given them and thereby preserve and protect the Freedom of each individual person in America. Preserving and protecting each individual in America means just that. It does not mean preserve and protect groups of people, nor well-meaning organizations, nor groups of under privileged children, nor sick people, nor old people, nor white people, nor religious people nor any other stretch of the intent of the words. It means preserve and protect each individual as an individual from any and all persons who may attempt to reduce or restrict the Freedom of any individual. Speaking to the usual shallow response to absolute Freedom; no, it does not mean that one can have the Freedom to murder another because, obviously, that would be taking the Freedom from the victim. That statement should cover almost every possible argument against absolute Freedom. So, now, the joy and morality of absolute Freedom can be discussed.

America is suffering, as it has from the beginning, from the sweet, short sighted words of well meaning people who convince the mindless masses that this idea or that idea is a good thing for these people or those people. It never is a good thing for each individual person because nothing can ever be a good thing for everyone, but absolute Freedom for all is as close as a country and a philosophy can get to the joy and fairness of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for all of it’s people. Any deviation from absolute Freedom will encroach on some other person’s Freedom. All laws are restrictions on Freedom. Laws cannot give or enhance Freedom because the American people did not give the Federal Government the power to either restrict or enhance their Freedom. They already were Free, as Free as could be, they therefore could not be made more Free. And therefore the people in the Federal Government could do nothing that restricted or enhanced the Freedom of the citizens. They were not given that power. Any usurped powers used by the people in the Federal Government are void and without standing, regardless of what the legislative, the executive or the judicial branches say about it. These invalid laws only have standing if the citizens consent to them, and since all citizens will not consent to them they should be repealed. The Constitution was written for the preservation of Freedom of the minority not for the power of the majority. If all of the citizens did not consent to the laws they would all be repealed and nullified and America would again be Free.

The failure of the American people to preserve Freedom is for numerous reasons. Some of them are, a) not understanding the meaning of Freedom, b) the desire to control other Americans in some way, c) wanting to do good, or wanting to do bad, d) not believing in Freedom, e) not caring about the harm that can come to another’s Freedom, f) thinking that some other group (such as congress or the President) is smarter and will look out for them, g) not taking responsibility for one’s vote which means blaming the outcome on the other people who voted with you, h) knowing they are getting something they do not want to give up, that was taken from another through the vicious force of the government. This last one includes millions upon millions of people in such groups as; unions, government workers, at Federal, State and Local levels, contractors and their employees who do work for the governments, lawyers, environmentalists, accountants, retirees, welfare recipients (corporate and individual), the list goes on and on. Since no one is a mind reader, fortunately, the reasons are endless and often secret, but always short-sighted because somewhere in the cycle the harm that is forced on some victim of theft of Freedom will come around and bite the perpetrator with some other evil. When almost everyone has lost the principle, idea and morals of Freedom everyone is doing some kind of harm to everyone else. That is evil.

There are so many issues that the politicians as well as the American people have thrown on the wall that it is impossible to quantify the evils of each one. But this evil of control over others has brought ruin to the American Dream, which is Freedom for all. Instead, Americans have become experts at taking Freedom from all. So obvious, yet so un-obvious to some, its just common sense. Over the past 150 years this evil has gained so many supporters that the ones who recognize the evil and try to stop it are met with the vicious misplaced righteousness that the slave holders had before the civil war. This is not an exaggeration. Listen to the radio, the TV, the candidates and read the newspapers, blogs, magazines, etc, and listen to yourself. As Pogo says, "we have met the enemy and he is us." The enemy of Freedom is definitely "us."

As for absolute Freedom: A little bit Free is like being a little bit pregnant. It cannot be. One either is or one isn’t. And as Benjamin Franklin said "if you give up a little liberty for security, you deserve neither." Freedom is quite simple, and on an individual basis it is quite simple to maintain. There are many cliches that have come down through history because they are truthful and timeless. Some of them are Alfred the Great’s golden rule "do not unto others that which you would not have them do unto you," "mind your own business," "keep your hands to yourself," "don’t lie, cheat or steal," "do no harm," etc, etc. Truth is eternal and the desire of most men and women to be Free is eternal. Support Freedom, love Freedom, demand Freedom, never support anti-Freedom choices, never ask government to do anything not authorized clearly in the Constitution and do not consent to restrictions on absolute Freedom.
