WEEKLY THOUGHTS:

The greatest threat to the future of our nation -- to our freedom -- is not foreign military aggression … but the growing dependence of the people on a paternalistic government. A nation is no stronger than its people and the best measure of their strength is how they accept responsibility. There will never be a great society unless the materialism of the welfare state is replaced by individual initiative and responsibility.

Government Addictions - Which Are Yours?

Addict, as described by Webster, means: to give up to some strong habit: to cause someone to become addicted to some habit: a person addicted to some habit: the condition of being addicted to a habit, esp. to the use of a narcotic drug.    Addictive. Relating to or causing addiction.

The goal of government, although not admitted to by any government personnel, is to get the public addicted to government. It may or may not even be in government people’s minds but the effect and the end result of all government programs is to force the public to need government, and actually convince each individual that such is the case. It has been said that somewhere between 50% and 75% of Americans are on some type of government dole, even though they do not realize it. And many of these people are addicted to government, that is, it would find it very difficult to break the habit. The following are some of the more common government addictions that have control on individual American’s lives.

  • Social Security (because there is no fund)
  • Medicare
  • Medicaid
  • AFDC
  • Fed unemployment
  • College loans
  • Fed personnel healthcare
  • Unnecessary Fed Jobs
  • Business loans
  • Labor dept laws
  • No income tax (47% of households)
  • Head start
  • Fed Government grants
  • College subsidies
  • K-12 subsidies
  • Any Fed government subsidies

This list is a small portion of the hundreds of programs that the government has used to trap individuals into the government addiction. Not only have people been trapped and become addicted to these programs, but the cost of these programs has been taken from fellow Americans or in many cases taken from the individual addicts themselves. Congress has purchased many individual’s votes with the voter’s own money in the form of taxes, but don’t be mislead, 97% of the taxes are paid by 50% of the taxpayers. The other 50% of the taxpayers are the freeloaders. The entire game is based on the scheme that each taker thinks the other guy is paying. It’s like a giant ponzi scheme, there is no money there until the government takes it from someone. And the difference being that the ponzi scheme is a voluntary investment and the government tax is a forced taking.

If each individual would look honestly at his or her situation and see how much of an addict he or she is then there would be a start to understanding the problem and thereby lead to a solution. The entire population has allowed the government incompetence to create the monstrous predicament that we now face. The government personnel’s incompetence is not able to solve this problem and should be disregarded as a solution. They only have the ability to make it worse. The solution lies in each individual’s honest assessment of his or her situation and make an honest effort to solve their own personal problems without the help of the government. Those who refuse to do this will not have as comfortable a life as they could have had if they had worked harder for it. You should get what you pay for.

The people who are on social security now have had a lot to do with the social security problem by demanding too much and by not allowing nor encouraging the attempts to fix the system. So, why should they be bailed out by the current generation of workers because of their lack of foresight to look out for their own futures, when it has been advertised for the past 40 years that there is no trust fund and even if there was there would not be enough in it to cover the future obligations. For forty years we have heard that the system is going broke. Wishful thinking and government lies have addicted too many Americans.

Americans need to tighten their belts and kick the government addiction that has enslaved them. If not now, today, it may be too late tomorrow. Every democracy in history has committed suicide due to the demands for government largesse. We cannot allow this to happen to America. FOCUS ON FREEDOM and dump all government largesse. It isn’t constitutional anyway. By the FOCUS ON FREEDOM of every individual it will make people more considerate of the other person and should stop them from trying to take his or her stuff.

Join the Tea Party Movement to support the civilian army of people who are going to force the government back into the limitations of the Constitution, and thereby eliminate the addictions that Americans have.
