THROWING FREEDOM UNDER THE BUS
Democracy can be good and it can be evil. And, it can be both at the same time to different people depending on their individual situations. In fact, democracy may always be both in every situation. Whenever government is involved it is always evil and even when it appears to be good it may still be evil. As an example look at welfare programs; the evil is that government is a parasite and must take from its hosts in order to pass it on to another. There is no question that it is evil to those from whom it is forcefully taking. It may appear good to those who are receiving the plunder but that is questionable. It is common knowledge that to continually give someone the means of living a comfortable life, that someone is immediately dependent upon the ill-gotten charity. It becomes very hard for that person to break away from the habit of dependency. Therefore that person has been harmed and that is evil. Therefore there is both good and evil, and the good is only the perception of good. The evil is much greater than the perceived good. A life has been ruined. The wrong lesson is taught. The U.S. welfare system has clearly ruined many lives and has not improved the poverty situation one bit.
Another example of perceived good and evil is the war on drugs. There is no question that drugs can ruin peoples lives, but so can overeating, cigarettes, alcohol, accidents, socialist schooling and any number of activities. The illegal drugs can also be a help to many peoples lives. Any laws that restrict the Freedom of those people that either need or desire the drugs is evil to those people, just as prohibition was an evil policy in the 1920's. In the case of alcohol and drugs, the government has assisted and condoned criminal activity that is beyond belief. And even with all of the history, the voters and government continue to pursue this evil policy. There is no question that the war on drugs has caused a much greater harm to America and to the world than the use of drugs could possibly cause. The policy is criminal. Without this war on drugs the criminal activity would stop the enormous profit motive and the use of drugs would settle down to be similar with alcohol. The choice seems to be, as it was with prohibition, eliminate the restriction and return a great deal of peace to the world or continue to restrict the Freedom which will encourage the crime and violence by both the criminals and the government.
Every issue, such as these, are throwing Freedom under the bus. Most Americans aid the government in restricting Freedom from themselves as well as their friends, families and neighbors. Peace and Freedom cannot survive unless Americans discontinue the demands on government to restrict the Freedom of fellow Americans. Virtue is lost when one party forces his or her will on another party. There is no end to it, as is so obvious today. Why is one evil more justified than another evil? Bringing harm to others is always evil, and is throwing Freedom under the bus in order to gain a perceived good.
The many issues that come before the public always come down to the same simple choice, that of supporting peace and Freedom or throwing Freedom under the bus and accepting something less than Freedom. Each voter who wants any government involvement in any issue is a contributor to throwing Freedom under the bus. The only issue is the Freedom of Americans. Every issue must have the FOCUS ON FREEDOM as the only issue. To discuss any other part of the issue is a compromise on Freedom. To maintain Freedom Americans must FOCUS ON FREEDOM.
FOCUS ON FREEDOM
