WEEKLY  THOUGHTS:

The Constitution was designed to protect liberty by restraining government.

Wrote Thomas Jefferson: "in questions of power, then, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution."

Federal authority is not limitless-quite the contrary: It is restricted to those powers "enumerated" in the Constitution.

FREEDOM'S BASICS

There are numerous fine, knowledgeable and talented authors and columnists that have made the points on Freedom very clearly and succinctly that another paper on the subject seems redundant.  There are thousands of unknown writers doing the same thing, all to the good.  However, redundant or not the ideals supported and encouraged in this paper are just as valid and important as are the ideals of every American who really loves Freedom.  The principles of Freedom do not change, only peoples' opinions of Freedom differ on what Freedom really is.

The principles of Freedom are those simple instructions learned from parents before a child enters kindergarten.  DON'T HIT means:  Do no harm to others.  DON'T STEAL means:  Don't take other peoples' stuff.  DON'T LIE means:  Don't make up untrue stories about other people.

Pretty simple, easy to remember and easy to follow in every day lives.  And actually, possibly more than 99% of Americans do follow these "manners" when dealing with their fellow countrymen most of the time.  But it seems that these manners of civilization are forgotten by about one half of the people when they enter the voting booth.  It is there that the evil is done whether evil is intended or not.  If we all followed these 3 principles there would be no need for government.  We would all self govern.  Eventually all Freedom loving people will again follow these principles, even in the voting booth.  There will always be those who are not Freedom loving who will not follow these principles, for many reasons, some good and some bad.  It is those people who seem well intended that cause the greater harm to Freedom.  When someone is actually trying to do evil people will guard against it and will deal with them accordingly.  But when someone wants to push a perceived good issue for government to enforce, that person becomes an aggressor against someone else's Freedom.  This is where Freedom begins to erode.  Other people may think it is a good idea but do not realize the negatives of asking government to use its force and violence to take someone else's Freedom.  Every law comes down to this, and adds to the enslavement of all citizens by the government, even the innocents and even the ones who promote the laws.

The principles of Freedom are sound and universally known, whether followed or not.  They are the basics of civilization.  Freedom breeds responsibility,  Freedom teaches responsibility,  Freedom is responsibility.  When the majority of Americans FOCUS ON FREEDOM the cry for the perceived need for government will shrink to the size that the original Constitution spelled out.  But it will take the constant fight by the Freedom lovers against any intrusion by government into our lives, no matter how slight.  We all know what the foot in the door leads to.

Laws are not needed to know right from wrong, and especially not Federal laws.  The Federal government people have learned to manipulate the public into thinking they alone know how to handle wrong doers, how to set the fines and set the punishment and even control what right and wrong is.  They have made themselves the "plunderers and punishers" of America.  NONE of this was authorized in the limited government of the Constitution.  These powers have been usurped by ALL government people while America slept.

The awakening is showing in the Tea Party Movement, as well as many other movements, massive grass roots collections of millions of individuals acting individually for their individual Freedom which was the promise of the Constitution and the promise of America. The individual is sovereign in America.  The power of the individuals is greater than a political party.  The enemies of Freedom can try to attack the Tea Parties as if they are one entity, but they are not.  They are individuals.  There is no leader to attack, no entity to attack so their poisonous arrows of character assassination cannot aim at nor hit the heart of the movement.  The heart of the movement is in every individual who takes part in it and fights for Freedom.  This power cannot be overcome by lies, threats, fabrications nor the vicious, violent force of the government.  There are only 545 of them (435 Representatives, 100 Senators, 9 Supreme Court Justices, 1 President) against millions of patriots.  The 3 persistent principles of liberty will Win the War on Washington by the FOCUS ON FREEDOM.

This revolution has grown up in the hearts and minds of the American people over many years by the vicious attacks on Freedom.  The current administration and congress, being the greatest tyrants, but not the only tyrants, in the last 100 years are the ones who have pushed the tyranny to the tipping point that will swamp this corrupted government and return it to the 3 basic principles of Freedom.  Then it is the job of the people to force the government to FOCUS ON FREEDOM.  Remember what Benjamin Franklin told the lady who asked what kind of government they had made, and his answer was "...a republic, if you can keep it."  The FOCUS ON FREEDOM can keep it.
